~ A gentleman from Lower Burrell needed in-home services – He had been in a nursing home for almost a year recovering from major surgery and had a feeding tube for nutrition.  The nurses worked with his daughter and was able to get in-home services for him and helped to find the finances to pay for them.

~ A divorced middle aged woman from Kittanning had no medical insurance – The nurses were able to find her health clinics where she could get a physical, mammogram and basic dental work done for a nominal fee.  They then helped her apply for Medical Assistance.

~ An elderly gentleman from Lower Burrell had a dilapidated old electric wheelchair that needed a new battery – the nurses worked with his medical insurance and Harmarville Rehab.  Through their efforts, the gentleman received a brand new electric wheelchair.

~ 67 yr. old man from Kittanning with severe lung disease was in need of supplemental oxygen.  He had difficulty breathing, especially in the morning.  The nurses worked with his primary care physician’s office and they ordered a sleep study.  Because of the results of the sleep study, his primary care physician referred him to a pulmonologist.  The gentleman was prescribed night time oxygen and medicine changes.

~ The nurses worked with a woman from Natrona Heights who had to place both of her elderly parents into a nursing home at patient pay.  The nurses helped her apply for Medical Assistance and VA Aid & Attendance Benefit for both parents.  As a result, both parents have been successfully place in a nursing home.
